My Pa inspired me to start banging drum sticks around when I was really young, since he himself was a drummer. I set up his kit in my bedroom, and since then life has been good! Immediately I sank my teeth into Nirvana, Green Day, No Doubt, and the Smashing Pumpkins, learning from their rhythm sections and drinking up unique beats and styles.
After I felt that my skills were developed enough to begin to play with other musicians, I joined my high school percussion ensemble and the jazz band. After graduation I began studying at the University of Utah. I joined the Drumline, marching band & pep band, where I got a music scholarship which I didn't end up using for long...
By the luck of the draw, Meg & Dia, a pop band who was gaining momentum at the time, invited me to audition as their drummer. They liked my style and so the "acoustic sister duo" became a full band. We have been on a bunch of tours in the U.S., Canada and Europe with bands such as Sugarcult, Anberlin, Saves the Day, Angels and Airwaves, The Plain white T's and most recently Blake Shelton. We also participated in The Warped Tour, the punk-rock/indie summer festival, a few years in a row.
So, where does all this nonsense leave me now you ask? I am currently playing for Meg & Dia as well as Dia Frampton (she released a solo album after her run on The Voice season 1). You can contact me via email for any gigs or session work in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas. I'm not picky about the style of music, I'm an open minded musician. My strengths are in the funk, rock, pop, folk and blues genres. This drummer comes complete with a variety of gear, a professional attitude, and an appetite for good tunes!
Please feel free to email me with any questions.
